Talk·2·Talk in practiceTalk·2·Talk programs have an additional language CD that contains all translations. When you buy additional languages, we send you this CD with a key code that tells the software which languages to install. Once the languages have been installed they are instantly available. The demonstration below is not quite how Number Bunnies works, but it will give you an idea of how multiple languages work together using the Talk·2·Talk technique. Just click on all the doors to hear Welsh and English.
Of course, the other language may not be Welsh. Languages available for Number Bunnies include: French, Spanish, Gujerati, Punjabi, Urdu and Polish with more to come. The way it worksWhen setting up a Talk·2·Talk program for use, the teacher chooses a First language; all recorded speech is in this language. Any on-screen text will also be in this language. The teacher then selects a ‘Second language’, which will be used to repeat the spoken content in another tongue. In a program with multiple Configurations, like Moles, you can make the whole program start in Welsh, for example, as Gwahaddod (or Tyrchod Daear), or any other installed language. Press (CONTROL + F2) at the Title screen to open the Configurations Editor and you can set the program to use one or two languages:
This gives the same program a number of different presentations:
Albert’s House is just one example from the rich collection of software developed by Resource Education. It allows children to explore the familiar environment of a home. When they click any item in the house, a small dialog box appears with the name of the item and invitations to investigate the item further. The words can be heard in a high-quality recording by clicking any text.
Any two installed languages can be paired.
Of course, you still have the option of using the program in one language only. |
