A simple program which de-sequences a text and presents it to the pupil as a puzzle to be solved. Pupils receive feedback according to the accuracy of their decisions.
The text concerned can be anything from a nursery rhyme to a sonnet, a list of instructions to an extract from a story – indeed, any short piece of writing in virtually any language that uses an alphabet.
A number of sample texts are provided at all levels of ability – and you can add your own.
Can be used to sequence words, form a sentence, practise alphabetical order or you can use it in modern language teaching – some example projects are supplied in French and German.
Sorted! Text can accommodate any Unicode character and non-Western alphabets such as Arabic, Hebrew, Devanagari, Gurmukhi, Gujarati, Greek, Russian and Urdu.
We've also had some success in setting up some simple projects in Chinese and Japanese.
