Making a Project
It's a little project the children have prepared. They were asked to write a set of instructions and save it as a text file. We're going to take each file and put it into Sorted! Text as challenge for the whole class. Open the Sorted! Text Editor (either from Start > All Programs > Resource > Sorted! Text or by pressing CONTROL + F2 while Sorted! Text is running). Right-click in the Projects folder pane and choose New folder and give it the the title Class 4. |
Right-click the new Class 4 folder, choose New project and call the file Instructions.txt. This is the name of the file on the computer, not the name that appears on the title screen menu. |
We'll call the Project How to do things. Everything will be in English so we don't need to change the language, but we want the Tasks to be presented in a random order. |
Copy and paste in the first task between the asterisks. Close the Editor and save the file ready for a test - the other Tasks can be added later. |
Starting Sorted! Text shows our new folder and opening that reveals the Project. |
Click to select and get the children to set up their own challenge. |
Here it's Show Right Places, Show Good Friends and Race the clock. |
They can then check the quality of the instructions: Are there any ambiguities? Has anything been missed out? Are there too many instructions? |
